who is
Emma Rivers?
Emma grew up on a farm in the foothills of the New Zealand Southern Alps. Education saw her qualify as an architect; street-smarts and sass saw her travel and build a successful design practice and importing business.
Relationships with warmth, integrity, and humour feed her soul. Artistic expression, sport, and nature are her release. Emma has an adventurous spirit with almost boundless energy. There are few things she won’t try. As she says, ‘If I can think it, I can do it.’
Emma is a gifted writer. Her prose puts words to emotions so many of us feel but are too scared to express. Her writing is self-help “journaling”, cleverly disguised as saucy, take-no-shit, kick-ass, can’t-put-it-down contemporary feminism.
Scratch the surface of Emma’s beautiful face and you will discover her depth of character. She has fought to overcome many personal obstacles, including childhood sexual abuse, eating disorders, the abandonment and attacks of a narcissistic ex-husband, divorce, and starting life over as a solo mother.
Her remarkable story is written from the heart; of her fears, challenges and the passions which drive her on in her battle for a better life.
Emma Rivers might be a friend, she might be a neighbour,
but she is one of us; all of us. A woman of her time.
